How much will Apple pay for iphone.com?

Apple is very active in protecting their brandname and their Trademarks. The name iPhone was first taken by Cisco and is now back after an agreement between Apple and Cisco.

The next will be the domain name www.iphone.com. If you check some other domain names like www.imac.com and www.ipod.com, you will be forwarded to www.apple.com. A sign of Apples hard work to protect their brand name.

The owner of iphone.com can now look forward to some pleasent rounds of negotiations with a comfortable price tag, or….?

By the way have you seen the ABC interview with Jobs?

  1. Update on Cisco’s iPhone Trademark - Intellectual property is the lifeblood of Silicon Valley and we all have to protect our property. The iPhone trademark is owned by Cisco, as noted in your story. We (Cisco) had hoped to reach an agreement to share our trademark with Apple, yet they decided to use the name without our agreement, so we, unfortunately, are having to go to court to stop them from using the name. It is not about money. We still hope we can reach an agreement, but when your neighbor steals your property, you have no recourse other than to call the cops and file a complaint.
