Daiko’s Text Widget - Update

After a question from one of my users I’ve included an additional conditional tag option in the widget that shows the widget only on posts belonging to a specific category or even a collection of categories. It will also display on the respective category archives.

Check it out and please give me feedback on it’s functionality.

You find it here.

Daiko’s Text Widget - Micro Update

On the recommendation of Katja I’ve updated Daiko’s Text Widget so that it only displays comment code (and not the before and after code) on pages/posts where it is not displaying. I’ve kept the comment code because you might have many text-widgets running and might want to be able to check the source for the various widgets.

Go grab version 0.9.3 here.

Have fun!

Daiko’s Text Widget - Micro update

I’ve just updated Daiko’s Text Widget with some small fixes to rectify the buggy widget control panel interface.

Now the Text Widget will correctly display and update the conditional tags fields. The advantage of this text widget to other similar widgets is that it can:

  • display a combination of text and php code. Just like it did in it’s original form (the ExecPHP widget by Otto).
  • use conditional tags, that is decide where it should display (post(s), page(s), category, home etc.)
  • be multiplied to use up to 9 separate iterations of the widget.

Daiko’s Text Widget released

I have just released version 0.9 of Daiko’s Text Widget. It adds a sidebar widget to display text and it handles also php-code. Includes conditional tag testing to specify where to display. The widget is basically an extension of the Ecexphp widget by Otto at http://ottodestruct.com.

You can find it here: Daiko’s Text Widget.

So why another text widget you might ask. Well since the amazing King widgets no longer work in Wordpress 2.3 and I needed a text widget that both could handle php and conditional tags (means that you are able to decide on what pages/posts you want to show the widget) I found that I had to make it myself. It is really just an extension of Otto’s work and serves my purpose. So why not release it to you all. Please let me know if there still are any bugs.
